FACT SHEET 4: DEMOLITION OF DEPOT AREA ZONE (5+6)
Client: Amec, Tadji, Iraq
Location: Tadji Military Base
Quality of Performance
The quality of work performed was exceptional. The final cleared field was virtually pristine and showed no evidence of the structure formerly located there.
Timeliness of Performance
Work was completed within budget and on schedule.
Economy of Problem Resolution
Because of the complexity of this structure and the amount of heavy equipment required for the demolition, the task was subdivided into five segments: Initial clearing and debris removal, heavy disassembly of internal works, a second clearing of all removed steelwork, final demolition of the masonry works, and finally removal of masonry and ground leveling. Labor crews from other ALMCO projects in the area were phased as needed between high labor intensive phases and the high equipment intensive phases to prevent having to mobilize multiple work crews. Integrity was maintained, leading to better productivity and safety.
Cooperative Manner
ALMCO executive management was on-site at all times during the project to provide a constant flow of communications between the customer and the work crews. Problems were resolved at the lowest possible level in a timely manner.

FACT SHEET 5: CONSTRUCTION OF THE LARGEST AIRCRAFT HANGAR IN IRAQ (3,500 SQUARE METERS) AT TAJI.
Client: Amec, Tadji, Iraq

The as-build quality of work performed was equal to or greater than the specified requirements. No rework or repair was required prior to handover.
Timeliness of Performance
The project completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
Economy of Problem Resolution
The need for this hangar was critical and rather than make our customer wait through the entire construction project, ALMCO suggested the approach of erecting a similar sized temporary hangar on the site, constructed of heat resistant tenting and non-fixed solid walls. This provided a stop gap measure that enhanced the customer’s quality of service to the US military.

FACT SHEET 9: SADR CITY WATER TREATMENT PLANT

To date, our work has been highly praised by our client in daily QA reports by USAID.
Timeliness of Performance
We have performed more than 68% of the project and we expect to finish the project two months ahead of the initial completion constraints date of June 2006. Of particular note, ALMCO was able to construct 3000 12-meter reinforced concrete pilings in 45 days, a schedule that was thought impossible at the outset of the project.
Economy of Problem Resolution
Due to nature of the site location, it was essential that ALMCO establish good contacts with the governorate of Al Sadr city to ensure the smooth flow of work and material. The project has proceeded without any problems to date.
